Happy Easter! I hope you have had a fine start to the spring. We are beginning a five-week session in Parliament, and there is no shortage of stories to cover. Here are the top issues going into the April-May session, from the Trudeau Foundation to CBC.
FOREIGN INTERFERENCE: THE TRUDEAU FOUNDATION
You may have seen reports of a CCP-linked donor giving $200,000 to the Trudeau Foundation. This might not seem surprising, given the many other fronts where foreign interference is suspected to affect this Liberal government.
But what actually is the Trudeau Foundation? Watch my explanation below.
This week in Public Accounts Committee, I raised a motion to get to the bottom of dishonest conduct and attempted foreign interference by the Trudeau Foundation. Shamefully, the NDP voted with the Liberals to shut it down.
This National Post article covers the entire story:
LIBERAL-MCKINSEY SCANDAL: NATIONAL SECURITY AT RISK?
The Liberal government has a dubious track record when it comes to national security in general, but recent testimony from the defence minister on the Liberal-McKinsey Scandal revealed yet another potential vulnerability.
Our defence department is casually contracting with a third party who also works with hostile regimes. We need to continue to fight to access all of the necessary documents and get to the bottom of what is happening.

TWITTER & CBC: IF IT LOOKS LIKE A DUCK…
After a strong push from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, Twitter CEO Elon Musk has labeled CBC as “government-funded media”. It is a fact. And Conservatives will defund the CBC.
TRUDEAU’S TIPS: “GO INTO DEBT”
After driving Canada into more debt than all other Prime Ministers combined, Justin Trudeau has one more terrible piece of advice on how to “grow a strong economy.”
BUDGET 2023
Over the April break, I hosted two very successful budget townhalls. Thanks to all who attended. This year’s budget comes with a particularly hollow sense of unreality. It attempts to recognize the challenges people are experiencing without acknowledging that government policy has anything to do with them.

RESUMING DEBATE: WHAT IS CONSERVATISM?
What is Conservatism? How do conservatives balance different and potentially contradictory impulses like respect for tradition and promotion of freedom?
On today's episode, I discuss these issues with two extremely smart Canadian conservatives: Ginny Roth, Vice President at Crestview Strategy, and MP Tom Kmiec, Member of Parliament for Calgary Shepard.
I would love to hear your take on this topic as well: leave a comment, send me a tweet @GarnettGenuis, or send me an email at garnett.genuis@parl.gc.ca.
Thank you for reading!
